I don't own any of them right now. I'm trying to finish out my education so I can get a decent job that doesn't inhale hundreds of hours of my time so I can do it more. The end goal being to roughly go pro-drift and have several other businesses that help pay the bills and allow me to basically not "work" for a living. That may actually happen sooner rather than later. I was within inches of buying a few IS300's just before the 350s details were fully laid out, but decided to hold off a while to accrue the "moderate" amount of funds I need to build my ... toy.hydroxide wrote:What do you drift in? Considering they cost 100K to get a street legal one here, it'll be a bit of time before I order mine. I'll be really happy if and when Nissan releases the R35 here though.. *drool*hydroxide wrote:I'd kill for an r34... but I guess that notion belongs in the Job Hunt section.
If I bought an America-legal r35, I'd feel like I was cheating.feyd wrote: Considering they cost 100K to get a street legal one here, it'll be a bit of time before I order mine. I'll be really happy if and when Nissan releases the R35 here though.. *drool*

I have no need to be JDM.. it's mostly silly to me. But considering the amount of modification I'm planning.. all I need to start is the chassis. Even with that, I only need one to make references from really.hydroxide wrote:If I bought an America-legal r35, I'd feel like I was cheating.
yeah, STi's are great for rally. While I love the boxer engine design, I don't personally like the STi/WRX styling or sound too much. While it's nice to hear a good growling exhaust once in a while, I prefer my cars to have a very nice purr even at high RPM. My current target is to produce a note under 50dB or so. Pretty damn quiet for a street car, let alone race car. The key: active noise cancelling.hydroxide wrote:I'm currently in the process of throwing some things against the wall (in hopes something sticks)... and I'm fairly sure I'll end up in an STi. I'd like to do some of the SCCA stuff in the future. I look at drifting as more of a fun thing to do, but rally is where it's at for me.
