I was watching the news this morning and they were showing a sting rays barb. It was like 9 to 12 inches long and had hackles on the end of it. If one of those things got his heart, that poor dude went quick. It is sad to see him go. Almost expected, given the level of risk he often took, but sad nonetheless.

me personally and this is not directed at anyone...but i think for someone to want to see someone die....is sick....like being back in the gladiator times watching animals kill people and cheering at it...i dont think it should be shown or leaked i think the family should destroy it....and what sick family would want to show the world how their husband/father/son was killed....thats like someone taping the death of one of your family members and you showing it online....im sorry i missed the part where thats "cool"

Morbid curiosity...most people have it...infact I would argue all people have it, some just supress their desire better than others.
I could care less if I don't see it, but if shown I would watch...yes...
It's natural human behaviour to want to see someone before and after death...it has to do with our cognition of death...
I don't think it has anything to do with being "sick" as you say...just a basic human characteristic.
The five stages of death and dying:
. Denial
· Anger
· Bargaining
· Depression
· Acceptance
The last and final stage is typically only completed when your convinced there is nothing left to do, so you let life go on...it's an essential step.
You've never heard the expression: "Like a bad car accident, I didn't want too look, but I did anyways"
Many people use that analogy on a daily basis, where do you think it comes from?
Cheers

I think it's sick to want to see this myself. I agree that it's not like some grusome murder or something but it will look messy given where he got hit and the fact he was in water at the time. Not for me thanks. It quite ditrubs me the number of people how enjoy frequenting sites like ro***n.com and others... at what point do you draw the line between curiosity and fantasy?

I can watch surgical video while eating. Does that make me disturbing? Maybe, but in reality I'm just desensitized to it all. I've been watching those kind of videos since I was eight or nine.
I'll say this, I would like to see the video, mostly because I'm curious as to both how and where he was injured, and how the stingray actually acted.

I'm the same way man... you pretty much stated exactly how I feel about it.d11wtq wrote:I think it's sick to want to see this myself. I carry the same sort of emotional detachment that doctors are trained to carry.Obadiah wrote:that is all i can agree with you guys that want to see it....would you still want to see it if it was your brother or son dying....would you still marvel at a the stingray peircing him in the heart with his barb....maybe its just me....i dont get it...i honestly dont get it
