Installing PHP/Apache on Solaris 8 (help)

Post by JohnnyDog »

so... I know how to install, no probs with that. What I'm interested in knowing is what the best version of Apache would be for Solaris 8. I heard that Apache2 is not stable enough for a production box, yet apache.org says it's the best version for download. I definately want PHP-4.3.0 and am considering Apache-1.3.27.

Comments anyone?

Hi :D ,

we use Apache 1.3.9 on the production server (an Enterprise 250, running stable without reboot for 1 1/2 years now) and on the "testing_env" workstations. As far as i am concerned, i can recommend it.

Our PHP is 4.2.2 - i played around with 4.3.0, but it seems as there are probs with the PEAR lib.

Sincerly,bluenote
