I almost always try to code my pages for my target audience wether that be for tech heads, average users or old people with the font rachedeted up and if time, money or commit allows I will try and make it as cross platform, cross resolution as possible.
My general feeling is that if you can make you site cross res, cross platform for the two largest segments and for the currnet version of browser plus the previous version you will hit most of almost any audience.
A project that I am working on now I get an few emails a week about people using old Macs with old versions of Netscape. The standard reply is to upgrade your Netscape browser. If you try to code for every possibility you will never get your site launched.
If you are generally happy about how your site is coded, get the site launched so you can start making $ or what ever it is your site is trying to do, because a site is always a work in progress, escpecially if it is your own.

I think i've sorted out most the browser and res problems. I'm happy with what is happening at the moment, design wise. I now have the massive task of programming the my.DNXNET feature. So i'm glad my design worries are over now.
btw just unrelated, but signup for my forum. You dont have to, but you could win some webspace (not really an incentive especially since most of you have webspace already, lol)

Several things to consider:
It's actually not difficult to design a site that works well in pretty much all resolutions. While I don't design for 640x480 (nor do I worry about it), 800x600 is something you must worry about.
There is no reason your site design can't be made to fit 800x600. Simply put: If you are going to offer design services, you better make sure your site shows your stuff. To be honest, it doesn't.
Not every tech head has huge screen, nor do they their computer set to high resolutions. Also, remember, on different systems, font's can appear at different sizes. I almost always have to resize text on sites because I use Linux, and the font size is a bit smaller.
Your site doesn't allow me to resize the text. You have to allow that functionality. I use it alot, and I am sure a lot of other tech heads out there do as well.
Also, the font choice makes it difficult to read. The characters are tightly packed. Couple this with the static font size, and you have a problem.
Another annoyance is the navigation. If you are going to have a the boxes change color when I mouse over them, you better allow me to click anywhere in the box to go to the page. It's a simple rule. You mouse over any application on your system, and if a button changes a color when you put your mouse over it, you instantly assume that you can click on it. Just imagine if you couldnt.
This "Currently 1 user online @ dnxnet.com. With: 39 Pages views today, and a total of: 754 views." is poorly placed. You have links right above it, and it makes it difficult to read.
Login is nicely done. However, why does it say "Quick Login"??? What's the difference between a "Quick Login" and a "Login"? Most logins I know just ask for a username and password. How is yours any quicker? Don't confuse people.
The column on the right that has the message about January Specials uses a larger font, and basically detracts from the whole page. It stands out, but not in a good way. Confuses me.
On your contact form, the "Area of Enquiry" portion doesn't have an "Other" option. Don't limit a person's choices in this respect.
