CPU: Socket 478

That's all you needed to know.

Find a socket 478 processor and it will fit.

but doesn't the speed of the CPU count? like i cant put in a 478 socket CPU with a 400mhz, when it is 533mhz?? or can you? and right now i have a celeron cpu on the motherboard, so does that mean i can switch it to pentium 4 only?

The FSB is 533 MHz. The maximum clock speeds acheived by modern processors will far outstrip the bus clock speed. So, yes, any 478 socket CPU will work even if it is 400 MHz.

You will also need to check to see what the fastest speed CPU your BIOS will support.

Here athe specs for the MB from the manufacturers web site.

BTW, that is a very old board and discontinued. The last BIOS update was September 2003.

http://www.asrock.com/product/X533.htm

Here is the CPU support list for the MB.

You could find the above if you Google "mobostar x533".

You really should visit Jack's links, one of which is the supported CPUs for your motherboard. That list of CPUs is for All BIOS.

Checkout NewEgg.

You may want to upgrade your mobo and processor, socket 478 is a little dated.
