I'm just curious how many of us PHP Developers know and use .NET too. So?

I don't know it. But I'm getting pressure professionally to learn C# .NET.

I know enough to run around like a child in a park and make a mess of things...;). I haven't paid attention to much more than knowing how to read C# and VB.NET - writing it is a whole other ballgame...

i think it varies to what branch of .net your reffering to...i love some good ole vb.net or some asp.net....although when it gets to the deep stuff like databases my knowlege goes a bit shallow :( ....in school since we are not allowed full access to the PC's i use VB.NET to do whatever my boss there wants me to get done....here at work i use php because my boss wont shell out the cash for the licence...cant say i blame him either...software is expensive as poop these days...id offer to download off of a p2p program but if he get audited and i have it on my PC without a licence....i suppose it woulnt be so great

my new job is a mix of php and c# but *fortunately* mostly php. I've had to dive in to some c# stuff and it's really not a huge leap (conceptually) from php. Syntactically it's entirely different however which makes for a lot of google searching :P

I would recommend you learn C# as it is a great language. MS did what they do best, they stole the best ideas from other languages and created C#. In the end though everything has its place, which is why I think it is also important to know PHP.
