Don't you get jacket potato stalls and cheap things like that over there?

(This thread is a bit bizzare)

I agree with the idea of a pub meal - they tend to serve real food...;). Are you lacking decent pubs over in the US? Over here at least they are packed at lunchtime.

Who in their right mind offers McDonalds as a potential lunch run??? :)

I know, Costco or Sams.

Yes, our pubs quality of food are often nowhere near the quality of our beer.

Hopefully everyone knows our beer tastes like swill.

I'm sitting less than a mile from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. which makes delicious beer.

agreed. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was one of my favorites.

they did get awefully commercial though...but bound to happen because it's delicious.

My usual lecture rooms are <2 minutes from my flat so I just nip back in the lunch break and usually cook some chicken!

Subways are absolutely everywhere here too. Manchester is worse than Leeds for them. Also in Manchester we have a Starbucks to go along with the Subway on practically every street. Nando's is getting quite popular too, they seem to be popping up everywhere now.
