My boss downloaded it earlier today. It looks like a Firefox clone (sort of). I may give it a go later on.

PS You might want to download the version from Microsoft.

Wasn't too impressed by RC1 & RC2 - didn't bother downloading RC3. Lacks tons of features you take for granted in Firefox and even more so Opera - plus it's still way behind in terms of standard-compliance...

I installed it on one of my test machines took 1 1/2 hours to install.

It did remind me a bit of Word 2003 - wrote a manual with plenty of screenshots. When I selected some text (two words) to make them bold, it suddenly made the whole text bold (after about 5 minutes parsing). Then I discovered that the file was 109 MB in size! So whoopsadaisy I cut'n paste into a new document. Saved it - the size was 4.5MB! Same content. 104.5MB Word overhead. Staggering.

Is it even possible to install multiple versions of IE?

I have no intention of loading on any of my work level machines. Firefox 2, however... that'll be the day it launches. :)

not 100% sure, but IE7 (RC1 & 2) could be easily uninstalled and IE6 was back.

I'd rather not install it, but I don't have a choice... I have to test my sites in it.

Plus Microsoft will push it out via Windows Update - so suddenly everyone will have IE7 overnight. Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers, Developers.

I just installed it. I am using it right now. Woopdeedoo. It is like a merge of Firefox and Opera. But with the nasty odor of IE to it. Looks a little nicer, has tabs and some other stuff built into it. But still not what I want to be using.

EDIT | By the way, it takes over your currently installed version of IE6 without asking. It just does it. And half the install takes place from the internet, and I am not sure what is being communicated.
