has anyone tried ie 7 with ff's ie tab?

I might just reinstall IE7 tomorrow. If this hasn't been addressed by then, I'll look into it.

I use it as a backup when FF isn't able to use the site to the fullest.

I think it's a great upgrade just for a change although tabs and better CSS is the only reason I would even make the change.

The thing I noticed the most was when you open a new site from say Outlook, it will go to your IE window and open the link in a new tab as opposed to overwriting the page that is currently open (this may be a default option - I dont care enough to change the options for IE)
