You'll need something cooler than a cool application...;)

I wish I could help, but my local county football team is playing that day and I have a crew of 9 heading out to the match. That's Gaelic Football by the way (bit like Aussie Rules if more familiar) not soccer.

Well before we decide on an app, shouldn't we first decide a REAL team name then wait till the categories are announced THEN think of a app?

I'm up for this. Here's an idea for an application I had:
I had an idea of an application for building mind maps. You would
obviously be able to put words and phrases in the bubbles but then
also use plug-ins to put other content such as google maps, flickr
galleries, wikipedia articles etc. so you could use it as a way of
describing associations between information from lots of different
web mediums. Kind of like building your own dynamic mash-up.

We could add a search feature to it later
Has anyone registered?
Are we going to have an IRC channel for this?

Yes Yes, a topic I forgot to cover: communication.

We defently need a way of communication whilst programming, SVN will help but a LIVE 24hour chat while programming will, indeed, help; I was think ether Jabber or IRC. If you need a client I recommend GAIM for Windows AND Linux.

As for the mind-maps idea, I have NO clue what a mind-map is, I'm thinking neural networking done in PHP.... and I know that can't be the concept because neural networking can not be done EFFECTIFLLY in php.

why not all just use ventrillo for communication while programming it...it seems to work well with everything else

I can't work with and talk at the same time, I've tried it. How do people feel about Trac? Here's the wordpress one. We'd probably have to set it up and play around with it for a while, those who aren't familiar (me included).

I have a n-f-p project coming up that could be good to hack on - we're replacing the local subway/bus system's current crappy website with a more user friendly one at a different URL. Some preliminary discussion was doneto discuss design goals, but that's all so far.

Thoughts?

Well w/e we decide to program we need to have a nice layout of areas to be programmed and posted on the internet.

About Vent, I agree it's a BAD idea; I too can NOT talk and program at the same time.
