I was reading about that in information week the other day. They have like 600 entrants already, and one team already improved Netflix's software by 1% in the first week. This contest is running for like five years, so I am not sure I'd be that interested.

5 years? blimey.. so that's $200,000 a year and some of the entrants are likely to be multiple staff. Unless someone comes up with a very impressive fluke, it's not as rewarding as it first sounds, and risky.
