Drupal v.s Joomla --- Linux v.s Windows

Post by jimthunderbird »

Though I'm not a fan of any content management system, recently I do give a try on the two big one's in the php camp, Drupal and Joomla.

I had a vague feeling that these two system will grow to a point that it will become a "Web Operating System", which php is like C and C++, mysql is like the memory, just a vague thought.

Personally, I think drupal is more like linux, with great user/permission design, joomla is more user-friendly at first glance, just like windows, but the user management part is a bit inferior than drupal.

To be honest the "perfect CMS" for me is still PHP, MySQL. I used PHP include to build templates and avoid Smarty Rounte, I use PHP to write some objects to avoid using modules, but I had to admit hat I'm humble in front of drupal and joomla, which had great man power and teamwork, great community support around it.
