just to suit your bacon-eating well being.
Ah Gotcha. In that case I'm going to build this machine in spite of your Canadian bacon hatrage, buy the USB to Bacon cord (Canadian edition) then fork out all the Canadian bacon I can get. Take over US bacon markets, then force you to eat (great) Canadian bacon.

At minimum, I'd jump to a dual-core processor, that helps loads on many games. What audio card are you running? Your FSB and other chipset settings may do better with some tuning. Definitely upping to a dual-video setup will help too. Is your HDD SATA 1 or 2? Some lower cost solutions would be looking at upgrading the cooling you have which will give the existing video card more headroom and help cool many other components. I wouldn't go as far as submersion into mineral oil, but may a liquid cooled setup.

Anyways, despite the number of replies am I riht in saying you have a PCI Video card JCart? I always though PCI Video hardware was an immediate loss anyway but then, I'm not a gamer even by a fraction. If I require a powerful computer it's mostly for compiling source code faster

he has PCI-E which is much different than PCI.

PCI-E (express) is the latest generation for graphics.

Video cards take a lot of strain off your CPU while gaming. I would highly recommend a vid card.
