I love christmas me! We're putting our tree up on 1st December but everyone thinks we're bonkers.
Off out to
the Manchester European Xmas markets tonight for a few mulled wines among other things
Well I'm starting to feel festive anyway... not my fault everybody else I know seems to be fed up

Have you been before? They're really good. Got a bit tipsy last year on the mulled wine. There's something about drinking steaming hot alcohol from a mug in the freezing cold that makes you get a bit drunk
EDIT | Doh! I found a way better smiley

It seems to get earlier every year

.
Last weekend, the Christmas Lights were setup on Dublin's Henry Street (one of the main shopping areas in Dublin). Came as something of a shocking reminded how close Christmas is. I guess it had its intended effect because I was reviewing my gift list that weekend

Dude, I put up my roof lights a week ago. Finished decorating the yard the day after Thanksgiving. About 90% of the shopping is done. Life is good, and festive.

In germany we have the Christmas Markets opened on the 24th November. Normally when when open it's a struggle to get through the town square, even this early.

I remember the christmas markets as a kid (my dad is ex-forces) , they were always great places to get lots of free chocolate just by looking cute in your mittens
As a 21 year old red-blooded straight , emotionally dead , male computer science student I have cancelled christmas this year.
I wont be buying any gifts (have yet to tell my girlfriend) , decorating or doing anything christmas related except eat dinner at my dad's (cause free cooked food is a students friend) and drink the odd crate (or three) of carling to numb myself form the TV adverts.
I am however going to buy a new Core duo E6600 , 2GB Corsair Dominator, eVga nForce 680i SLI , Antec P180 system and of course what everyone needs , a dual 19" widescreen TFT setup.

My wife didn't like it much when I started singing 'It's beginning to stink a lot like Christmas...' so I straightened up and got on the bandwagon.

The only thing that annoys me about the season is the constant music played EVERYWHERE. So remember to take a good set of headphones and an MP3 (or other portable device) for your own sanity.

I love the season. Unfortunately, my parents never had the time or will power to really clean and decorate the house well in the past few years, so it's been less than festive.
My girlfriend's family however (mainly her and her mom), go all out for Christmas. They started decorating yesterday, and when I came inside from doing a brake job on my car in their garage, they were singing christmas music and cooking dinner and brownies. It was really nice.. as sappy as it sounds.

PLEASE tell me you're kidding.. that is awful. The entire point of christmas is to make OTHER people happy, not yourself. If you can afford the computer, you can afford the gifts for others.

I wish I were , christmas means nothing to me .
I crawled out of bed at 3pm last christmas for dinner then went straight back untill boxing day when I then spent all day in the pub with a friend. I used to like christmas but now it means nothing . I dont HATE it or do I enjoy it.
Im a happy cheerfull laid back person all year round and nothing annoys me more when people are instantly happy around christmas when there miserable for the rest of the year.
Im sure ill be forced into buying gifts for everyone like I was last year (by the same girlfriend) . I was locked out my own house and had my wallet thrown at me with instrutions to buy atleast 1 thing for everyone in my family. I dont see the need to buy presents , I spend £50 on you and you spend £50 on me and were both £50 short and have things we dont like / want (I suppose THAT in itself is what christmas is about).
Humbug
