As some know, I've already got the Wii.
I considered getting a PS3, but with the launch titles not including a single game I wanted to play... not too interested right now. ... so I'll wait for MGS4 and/or GT5 before investing. ... I need to get myself a HDMI compliant TV too I guess.. I just want to wait until the v1.3 units are more readily available.

I want a Wii just for the fishing game(s?) though of course cannot justify the cost, based on the reason alone.
I'm weird.
Other than that, and the occasional Fifa or Tekken, I'm not a console type person. I stopped buying them after the N64.
I still play PC games daily, however. I have limited my self to the odd hour of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory and sometimes many hours of EVE:Online.

It's quite fantastic fun. The accuracy can be a bit odd since you're pointing with a scaling system, but the sensitivity when you're moving slow and need accuracy is quite impressive.Case- wrote:I would 2 go for the wii.

If you want more of a workout, you can always set the sensitivity down so you have to move it more to get the same reaction from the game. I really like the speaker in the remote as well. It's used quite nicely in Zelda for example to give you a more localized sword sound, however the sword sound is still broadcast across the speakers, just not as loudly.
I haven't fully tested the backward compatibility of the unit as yet, but I really enjoy the compactness and overall clean design of the console.
I took it to my grandparents house during Thanksgiving break. Grandpa really enjoyed playing it (he spent hours playing the various sports games) and grandma enjoyed the golf game too.
Not a big PS* fan (though, the PSP is rather cool). However, I did get into SOCOM II & III... that was hella fun.
On a side note, my brother got a 360 recently and after playing it... I WANT ONE!
heh
It's mainly because I used to be a big Halo 1 & 2 fan and I still have my old Halo discs, so we popped them in and had a blast playing on Live.
The stat tracking is amazing for Halo 2 on Live... I only ever played it online via XBC which is a system link tunnel (runs on your network and fakes that people around the world are on your network so you can play system link games with anyone)
I doubt I'd get one though, I'm content with playing just Call of Duty 2 on the PC with my clan right now.

PS3 is not just a game console, it is a Blu-Ray DVD Player (High Definition). And a Blu-Ray players are selling around $1000 bucks now. Considering that I don't have a HD tv I won't be buying the PS3, but when I do get a HD TV and want to get a Blu-Ray Player I'll probably get the PS3 over a stand-alone Blu-Ray.
