I agree with people who says that to be a developer is sometimes really boring.

But, I like to be a developer for the little moments when you discover new things that you didn't know about them, or when you sit hours and even days trying to solve a problem and you finally solve it (sometimes even in a sophisticated way!).

So, it's not too bad to be a developer. :D

Lately I've only been dealing with the same problems, repeatedly. Not a lot of new stuff.. a lot of it I can do on Auto-pilot.

EDIT: also influencing this is the rest of my 'life' is currently up in arms, so relatively speaking.. the development world is very mundane :P
Wow, I feel a little better now. I've spent the last 3 months panicking cos I'm not sure I want to do the whole web development thing anymore. That freaks me out because it's really all I know how to do! I'm guessing I'm just bored of the same old tasks/clients and could do with a change of scene, but my bosses have brainwashed me into thinking I'm not good enough to go anywhere else

If your bosses have convinced you (or tried to convince you) that you are 'not good enough' that's a sure fire sign they want to hold on to you. Pimp yourself around for new jobs, higher paid ones, then when you get offers, return to your current bosses and ask for a pay rise else you will walk.

Win-win situation. You either get a payrise at current job, or a new higher paid job.

honestly i'd leave regardless. any situation where the boss doesn't respect you is always a situation for mental anguish. it's not worth it no matter how much money it is
