User control panel

Post by ok »

Hello,

I was wondering if there are some people who think about a nice user control panel (like Categories Hierarchy has: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=265040).

I'm not sure what you're wanting... most of the stuff is entirely behind the scenes that I can see.

Could you explain what specifically you would like? Pointing to a large patch set that implements a collection of changes makes it hard to understand what you like.

What do you mean by "User Control Panel"?

A feature which will be able to list all the topic I am watching and if I don't want to watch some of them, I can mark them and remove them from my watching list:

+---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
| [check boxes] | Topic | Forum | Watching since | ...
| | User control panel | General Discussion | xx.xx.xxxx |
...
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
+----------+
| Remove |
+----------+

EDIT: I also think that when you edit or reply to a post, the link to the post should be after the forum name (in the top of the reply form: DevNetwork Forums Forum Index -> General Discussion -> xxx).

As much as I dislike the somewhat limited option set in phpBB, I would rather use it than any of the other forum packages out there.

I haven't tried many boards except this one. While the code is not the best I've seen it ain't the worst either. It works and it's free.

I think that adding some features (mods, hacks...) would be helpful.

I think UseBB's user CP is pretty neat.
