I had to post this link about photo manipulation. It is freaking cool what you can do with a graphics editor. Make sure to mouseover the large finished photo at the end for a great contrast.

heh

That's one of the more extreme makeovers I've seen done via Photoshop. Good find.

Here is a more subtle one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHLpRxAmCrw

I think the link I posted was found in the comments from the Digg on that first video.

Now that I have actually read the article, there is a HECK of a lot 'skipped' over, or rather it is heavily summarised. Since buying my wacom on a whim I've been taking a liking to manipulating photos and stuff and it is amazingly difficult to get things just right. No one told me that in order to be good with a tablet you must have some measure of artistic talen to begin with.. no fair!

That tutorial is awesome. I noticed one of the wind-up videos, of the Dove "Evolution of beauty" advertisement on UTube which m3mn0n linked to which I thought was quite amusing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPi7W6zufbA&NR

Yeah, and the better you are good at Photoshop/Gimp, the bigger contracts you'll land.

This sort of reminds me of that movie S1MONE if anyone has seen it, you'll know why :P

On a slightly related note... has anyone here ever been to a "Photoshop World" conference?
