While I'm on the subject for games... if I decide to get a game like Madden for instance... what is the best controller to buy for Windows? I see XBox has an "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows". Is that any good?

I use the Xbox 360 controller, I have no complaints.

Sweet... so it sounds like it's free (paid for by ESPN)... or I can pay the $2 and keep ESPN from sending me mailers... right? I can afford a free subscription for online play. Hmmm.... things are lookin good for ol' madden.

Thanks for finding that for me feyd!

I would stay away from all MMORPGS as they can suck you in and take away a good portion of your life. I have seen this happen with too many buddies. Stick with shooters like half-life where it is easy to jump off whenever you need.

Surely I could, but I remember I found a review which explains why the game sucks very nicely, and I agree with it completely (you may disagree that it sucks, but the points raised are difficult to ignore). Will try to find the link and post it later.

Here's the review. And some more points. On top of that you can be sure to get crashes from time to time.

Personally I couldn't play the game with that many flaws (some may treat them as "features" though :)).

That review itself is a joke. It sounds as if the person who wrote it is too "1337" to have fun playing games anymore.

Hey guys... I just bought the Xbox controller for PC and also bought Madden 07 and have had some fun playing it. Still trying to remember all the controls and what not.. but it is slowly coming back. Online play is pretty good... some minor lags, but not much a problem at all.

Anyone here play Madden 07 online? Would love to get a game with someone from DevNetwork forums... even though I'd probably lose.

I'm probably going to buy Half-Life 2 w/ CSS next week after Madden starts wearing off a little bit.

It simply points out the flaws of the game and I can agree with pretty much all of them. The game was a hype and pretty graphics didn't help to make it good (btw, as for graphics, there's a huge problem with character facial textures).

It's just a console game for kiddies, IMO. Unbelievably easy, "shiny" graphics and no depth whatsoever.

I did read all the reviews praising the game and I was expecting it to be if not "great" then at least "good". I don't remember myself being so disappointed with any other game I played.

Oblivion was a fine game. It was a better game because of the Construction Set. You may even go as far to say that the Construction Set adds unlimited depth to the game since users can create as elaborate of a game or story as they want. There are many add-ons available and there may even be a TC or two out.

Oblivion is obviously a simple game, made for casual players. The biggest problem that I have with the game is that it is not the hardcore, in-depth, all-out RPG that the other Elder Scrolls games were. This isn't all that big of a deal because of the Construction Set which, in my opinion, is the nicest feature of Morrowind and Oblivion.

Since Oblivion is the kind of game that it is, I feel that it would be perfect for seodevhead since he doesn't even qualify as a casual Gamer.

Even though I replied to this line of conversation, I think that a new thread should be created if this argument should be continued.

P.S. The game is not flawed, it is simply not made for persons with 40+ hours a week to play.
