What do you like to stare at and ponder...?

Post by alex.barylski »

With the exception being Women as most of us on here are men...that's kinda expected...no source code either ;)

I just spent the better part of an hour looking at Aircraft pictures...

http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.s ... order=desc

I love particularly looking at pictures of Air Canada aircraft...but any planes is beautiful for me...

Not sure I know why I enjoy looking at aircraft photos...especially large commercial jets, and some military...but I enjoy any aircraft...

What about you?

Edit: I love theses - wing shots or cabin in flight are the best:

I was inside of Elvis Presley's Jet, The Lisa Marie, when I went
to Graceland during a business trip to Memphis Tn. last November.

There are two pictures of The Lisa Marie in my album,
1 outside and one picture of his bedroom in the jet!

I'll stare at planes as well - I'm right below the landing corridor for Toronto's airport (but far enough so it's not noisy. I'm not into photos of planes though, just the real thing. You like our giant tin geese, eh? Granted AC has some kick-ass graphic designers ;-)

I'll bet Everah still isn't that thrilled with planes.

I look at the moon, and pictures of the moon.... That thing is fascinating! Other planets as well... I think the earth is quite fetching as well.

I currently have a nasa "blue marble" shot of the earth in January 2004 stretched across both monitors. I set it up in an HTML file to move with the time, such that I'm always seeing it from the sun's POV. I stare at that sometimes as well.

Having driven underneath two planes landing at the San Jose airport last night, my zest for flying has once again taken hold of me. I actually almost want to get on a plane and go somewhere.

That is one of the best uses of geek skills I have heard of. That is brilliant.

For me, I like to spend time staring at freakishly fat or ugly people. My wife hates that I do that, but for some reason I am awe struck to see how weirdly formed people can actually be AND not fall into the depths of forgotten humanity.

Oh yeah, I like looking at really big ice cream sundaes, as well.

Cars, car parts, car related machinery, various technical and technological papers I'm considering incorporating into cars, regulations and laws that are applicable to cars.. you get the idea.

I'll be looking at executive jets soon enough. :)

For example: http://world.honda.com/jet/ (warning: it's flash and large.)

I like browsing Flickr for photos and I like going back and browsing my favorites every now and then, because, quite simply, they kick ass. :)

Plus I like to change my wallpaper every so often and I pick wallpaper out of my Flickr favorites. Currently it's this one.

My old works for Air Canada, so I really had no choice but to appreciate Air Canada aircraft...he always wanted me to become a pilot but that didn't pan out :P

The night sky has always fasicnated me as well...I remember watching this movie "the blue planet??" at IMAX....awesome experience...

I also love looking at city skylines...Chicago skyline as well New York...love those skylines....Vancouver is pretty nice too :)
