Will power. :)

I rarely see my backgrounds actually. Email, code, stock streaming and/or a browser is always covering both monitors in some fashion.

At work here I've got 3 X IBM 17". The third was primarily because I could, but I do find myself using it quite a bit. I've usually got the page I'm working on in a browser on the left, the code in the middle, and the db on the right.

At home I've got 1 X Dell 19" & 1 X Samsung 18".
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

I can't argue with that..

Although I switch around my backgrounds every so often -- to mix it up. I haven't had Evangeline on for quite some time. :)

Not too long ago on a car forum I inhabit there was a wallpaper thread. I'll copy my post from there:
Imageshack chose to shrink them. They were 3840x1200.

The only thing allowed on my desktop is the trash can.

I use two monitors at work: a 17" Dell flatscreen and a 19" samsung SyncMaster 204B. The larger usually has my firefox/ide/database tools open, the littler one usually has IE and opera open on it.

At home I rely on my 15" laptop monitor, which remarkably does not bother me a bit.

2x21" Trinitron CRT's here - have had since 2000.

As soon as 24" 1920x1080 LCD drop below $400 CAD I'm upgrading... it should be any month now :-) I watch tigerdirect almost religiously these days...

It's absolutely essential to have this much screen real estate. I don't know what I'd do without it! I've gotten 4 other people at my office into the dual-monitor setup as well... one guy uses 3!

If you can't afford some nice big LCD puppies, you can get some nice (used) hi-res CRT 21" monitors out there for $150 CAD or less.

Am I the only person to have more than two?

I've got 3x19"... Er... I can't remember who they're made by - some LCD things - but I have the browser on the left, code in the middle and Putty windows on the right.
The one on the right is also KVM'd to my Media Server.

[edit]I see Pickle has 3 as well.

I haven't needed more than the two I have so far, but eventually I will likely shift to more.
