My new year's resolution this year was to quit smoking. I smoked my last cigarette on January 1st. It's been just about a month now... I'm pretty damn proud of myself.
I feel better being a non smoker.... but I do miss it sometimes.

Hopefully you haven't substituted with food or anything else for that matter.
Congrats at any rate.

Well done man, keep it up. Don't be one of those who goes back when things get tough, then you'll be truly free.

It's good that you waited some time before you told anyone.
When I quit I didn't want to tell anyone because of all the
times I tried and failed. I just waited, and when they asked
I told them how long I hadn't had a smoke, but not that
I was quitting.
Every time I got a bad nic fit I just breathed deep, and tried to
see if I could go five more minutes without a smoke. After that
see if you could go another five minutes. It's been ten years
for me now!
It is so much better being a non-smoker. When someone on
the street asks you for a cigarette and you can tell them,
'I don't smoke."
Good Luck!

Congrats NSG! Keep it up!
I quit after 10 years about 3 years ago - It's been great. It gets easier in time, but that first month is a real biatch (as was I, apparently)!
Also, keep wearing those sunglasses indoors... 'cause your future's so bright...

w00t! Well done! Just dont fall back into it while drinking or anything.
I quit back in August after I got all my wisdom teeth yanked at once. I kinda substituted cigarettes for a pipe but its so much cheaper and I only smoke like max 2 pipes a day if any at all. And if you say anything against that about how bad blah blah blah I will justify it by not listening to you.
Anyway, good work!

I've tried multiple times since MyPotatoes and I can't get past day 3. I also read this article about the oldest person to have ever lived (documented), it said that she lived into her 120's and smoked since her teens, turned me off to quitting, lol.!~

I've heard a lot MORE stories about people dying at age 30 from cancer than people dying at age 120.

If you want to smoke, smoke. You won't be able to quit unless you actually want to.
