I wouldn't think it was a dig at anyone. That being said, can we please keep this thread on topic. If there are comments/questions pertaining to members, they can be taken to PM instead of cluttering up this thread. Thanks.

I use a free program called Crimson Editor, its not bad, but are there any programs out there that highlight errors like how MS Word highlights spelling mistakes?

Zend Studio and Eclipse point out errors. And I am pretty sure Eclipse shows misspelled variables in a light colored background as a hint, unless you use that variable a second time.

I use kate.

although it simple there are some advantage.

It complete word from the document, so if you use in "smart" IDE which don't know all the possible methods and all the words to complete like zend studio, It make easier with just complete words from the document.

Although there is extension to kate to complete in smart way php functions.

i don't understand why would anyone use any file editor except vi? it is truly the be-all end-all of file editors. seriously. it is the most powerful file editor on the planet. get with it, or get a new profession!

gPHPEdit! I use it every day and I love it, it's lightweight and fast - just what I need! I wish it did Drag 'n' Drop of opening files though.

Hope an Emac fanatic doesn't read that. This thread could get ugly.
