Maybe you will have to tell it that the script is for PHP 5. I don't know. But they say it supports it all over the web store.

I still like HomeSite. I thought I'd throw this out there, in case anyone else uses HS. I only "discovered" it yesterday, but I wish I'd had it all along. This is directly from Macromedia's website:
If you are a PHP developer you may want to download the PHP Expression Builder library package from Marjolein Katsma’s site http://hshelp.com/downloads.html This is a first-class Expression Builder package enabling access to PHP functions, operators, constants, format strings and other general language constructs. Once installed, all of its PHP functions become available via Function Insight.
Nice! 8)

Still using a really old copy of PHP Edit. I like having question boxes asking me for an answer of "Oui" or "Non". 8)

I like Activestate Komodo...it's easy to use and supports a lot of languages. Code completion is pretty good too. Takes a long time to load, but after that it's great. The license key install is a pain too, but oh well.

I also like to ability to have a single project which has source code from any number of remote servers. It's convenient and transparent to the developer. You just double-click the .php file and it opens it from where ever it's located.

Maguma Studio is a good alternative

Post by php_passerby »

Another vote for Maguma Studio. I thought I'd see many references to this one but surprisingly there were just one!

Maguma studio is good and reliable (http://www.maguma.com), I also use Zend Studio, but sometimes it freezes (my computer just doesn't seem to like java).
