PHP Quebec Conference

Post by jason »

The PHP Québec conference presents two days of talks with high level technical presentations by international experts and a showroom where local companies will be able to show off their expertise.

Speakers include:

Rasmus Lerdorf
Co-inventor of PHP

Zeev Suraski
Co-inventor of PHP

Derick Rethans
Release Manager of PHP 4.2

Andrei Zmeivski
Release Manager of PHP 4.3

Jim Elliott
IBM Linux Advocate

Cyrille Béraud
Savoir Faire Linux

Damien Seguy
Documentation PHP française, nexen.net

The best part of all, is that I am helping to put this together!!! So if you can make it, come on over. It will be a good time for all, and you will actually get to meet some pretty cool people.

Does the student pricing for the conference extend to students of American universities?

Also, will the conference be held in English, or should I brush up on my non-existent French? :)

Yes, the student discount extends to any student of any nation.

Also, the conference will be half french, half english. Essentially, people of either language will find there are enough speakers on board to satisfy.

I don't speak french either, and of course, I want to get the most of out it as I can.

Woohoo. Now all I have to do is con my boss into sending me (ie--get him to foot the bill for airfare/hotel room). If you know of any inexpensive hotels close to the conference, please let me know. The cheaper the price, the better the odds I have of attending.

Sure, I know a couple places.

There are quite a few local places at abou $80 CAD a night, which is about $55 a night USD.

The best thing to do is to email presse@phpquebec.com and basically, just ask for good hotels close by (the other guys should have this information on hand).
