The phrase "Having said that" driving me nuts

Has anyone noticed the phrase "That being said" or "That said" or "Having said that" proliferating internet forum posts worldwide and now I am hearing people say it on the radio and tv. Am I going nuts? This phrase was unheard of about a year ago. Is this like "groovy" was back in the sixties?

First of all I agree that's an annoying thing to say, now, having said that, I am also quite tired of seeing "I digress" on forums.

I must admit, I am guilty of using "Having said that" a fair bit in conversations.

It's a diplomatic version of "but".... that being said it can get quite annoying, but I digress.

I am guilty of using the phrase on forums, but if I said "having said that" while speaking out loud, I have a feeling my friends would laugh at me. The difference between my written english and my spoken english is pretty large. I live in hillbilly country.

I typically abstain from various sentence structures as those described herein. However, it is my prerogative to utilize these sentence structures, or variants thereof, at times when it suits the needs of the conversation. That being said, I have, on more than one occasion, perhaps even recently, utilized said prerogative to put forth the phrase 'having said that' or some variant of the form.
But I digress, I try not to sound to stupidly smart as it makes everyone look at the screen weirdly, and since I am not there to see the weirdly looks, I really cannot enjoy it.

I was going to post a link to all the threads where I've said y'all in response to Kieran, but once again, I looked at my posts back in November '05, and I was quite an ass. Thanks for putting up with me devnet.

It's only because of the 'cream' episode of '06.

You know, that stuff was funnier than crap when I was posting it originally. Now, it is even funnier. I have to wipe the tears from my eyes. That was good stuff. Thanks Ninja.

FIVE pages about pancakes? If only I'd joined sooner!
For the record:
I also prefer Aunt Jemima to "real maple syrop"... and I have access to the authentic stuff!
Butter is FAR superior to margarine in every important way.
HOMO milk (is that full-fat in the US?) is the way to go.. not that chalky water some call "skim".
After all the wrasslin' talk I found this mildly disturbing:
