The Ultimate Vista Change

Remember how in the day command prompt thought of program files as PROGRA~1 ? Right? Not anymore. Now it really thinks of Program Files as Program Files so libraries in c++ that have to be compiled which insist that's nonsense don't work on directories that are spaced out and as such have to pretty much be installed at root level. Yay. Luckily MSVC is only a two hour install with a one hour patch...Ugh!

Blog?
I personally have vista installed at the moment, and have been pleasently suprised with Microsoft.. for once.

blog? what? Oh yes, I like vista. i don't even fault them too much for this. It's just annoying having to re-install msvc.

What is it that you are suprised about? Personally I don't see a single reason to take Vista over XP (besides DX10 and the inevitability factor). And you can't buy me with a 3d interface either.

Vista has a nice interface and some interesting programming stuff
i have used the Vista Beta 2 for nearly 6 months and dig into some net framework 3.0 programming, i found a lot of things to do but also several issues, since it was not completely supported
i also have to mention that it really need a lot of resources in memory specially, i had to buy some memory and HD for getting the performance i wanted
