Programming: 10 hours at work (breaks included) + 2-3 hours at home. The rest of 24 hours is divided between sleeping and doing anything else.

Haha, cool thread.
My 24 hours will usually be 10 sleeping, 3 in lectures, 9 socialising, 1 eating and 1 in the gym. No programming or any work at all gets done

Lately I've been working too much (> 12 hrs) but at least it's interesting work for the most part. I try to keep weekends completely free for time with the gf.

Kieran : Fortunately , I dont have a gf , so my weekends are perfect chance to study ($my_php_lifetime=5 months)
let's direct the thread to something useful.....
How can you , really , schedule your day so you gain high benefits from it????
we have at least 2 categories ......freelancers & work-in-job (:?: dont know their name)
currently , I'm a freelancer , could anyone advise me.
(when to work , when to sleep , when to play C&C tiberium wars

,etc...)
I believe there're time of peak concentration , and others not !!!!!!

In the morning your brain is the most affluent, so try to get most of your work done bright and early and keep C&C for a cooldown period after your long day of work.

It's odd - sometimes I'm in the zone, other times I may as well go watch TV... as long as the work gets done.
I often find I'm most productive in the middle of the night, likely due to a lack of distractions. Also, I'm a night person by nature.
Too much caffeine is almost always counter productive in the long run, so use it in moderation!
Incidentally, I work from home.

I dont think that the concentration relation with day time is linear...but it's a curve
It cant believe that the concentration is on peak in morning and decreases as time passes....it is changing from time to time
I cant remeber where or when I saw an article with data about that curve...
I'll google it after a while

These days I spend about 14 hours a day in front of the computer and manage to do about 1 hour of actual coding. My motivation is at an all time low so I play around, read forums, browse MySpace. It's a problem. I need to motivate myself again.

about 8-10 hours of my day is spent doing something related to programming, be it meetings/discussions or code cutting.
Outside of work: Nothing. It's play time, not work time!

Right now, 10 hours at work (m-f) and then after work, I try to get at least 2 hours of my personal project work done, so that's about 12 hours a day of programming/scripting/design. Weekends = NO PROGRAMMING. I get wasted all weekend and try and forget the troubles of stressful deadlines and all that stuff.
As for productivity, I am probably about 3-4 times more productive from 7am - 1pm than any other time. Sometimes I can be pretty productive late at night if I'm motivated, but like onion said, that is rare these days.
