Google ranking of rare names

Post by Maugrim_The_Reaper »

I just noticed that a Google search of my name Pádraic ranks my blog at number 10 on the search results list. The unaccented form ranks my blog as 13th. Until now I never considered how rare my first name really is outside Ireland. Maybe if I get some more links I'll notch up a top 5 ranking ;).

Why on earth would an outsider give Pádraic as a search term :D

That means that I need to link to your blog more (and maybe drive my rankings up a bit in the process - I think the last search for Robert put me at like 4,334,667,664.998th place).

If we're comparing Google results, I'm #2.
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

My real name is entirely to common to get a good page rank without buying it.

According to Google, I'm the Acting Assistant School Business Administrator/Board Secretary for Camden NJ public schools. I must be good if I'm 23 but already on the board of education in NJ!
