I stand corrected! Must be all that marketing jazz going to my head...
My tv and your 28" monitor both clock in at around 45 ppi, whereas a 24" 1920x1080 has a pixel density of 80 ppi. My (old, crappy) CRTs pull about 60 ppi. Keep in mind these calculations are extremely lazy.
I have no complaints about my CRT pixel density, but I always heard people talking about how denser was better. Anyone have any thoughts? Something I should really consider before I invest in a new monitor or two...

They're like Tonka Toys, even compared to other Porsche's.jayshields wrote:Have you driven one? They're awesome. I had a go in my uncle's brand new one.Jenk wrote:meh, boxter isn't a real porsche anyway

For real insane speed for little cash, you either want a TVR Griffith 500, or an Arial Atom.
Yesterday on my lunch break I *finally* placed the order for my new drum kit. Nothing to fancy, but nice enough...
Pearl ECX Fusion Black on Black (black drums/black hardware)
* 10"/12"/14"/16" mounted toms
* 22"x18" bass
* 14"x5-1/2" snare
* Stands & BassPedal, but I am ditching the hi-hat stand and bass drum pedal...I already have DW 5000 Turbo Double-kick w/matching hi-hat stand.
Zildjian A Custom cymbals - 14" hats/16" & 18" Crash/22" medium ride
Pearl Rack with Clamps
All for $2,009.88, which is a steal. The cymbals alone are typically $950-$1000, but I got the 18" free ($244 at GuitarCenter). All found at my local retail drum shop, who beat everyone's price (musicians friend, guitar center, music123.com, etc) by at least $300.
And I got a free Zildjian hat.

Well I haven't driven another Porsche; and yeah, performance-wise you don't get the most for your money - but you get a Porsche badge on the steering wheel!Grim... wrote:They're like Tonka Toys, even compared to other Porsche's.jayshields wrote:Have you driven one? Besides, (correct me if I'm wrong) the Carerra is the next model up and it's ~£25,000 more.

Dude, how do I go about marrying in to your family? I could use a brother that works at Sony...Jcart wrote:Call me crazy, but my brother just got a 32" Sony Bravia for free, to which he said I could have. (he works for Sony)
Samsung 28" and Sony Bravia 32" should play nicely together.
TVRs are horrible, and an Atom is even less practical than a Boxster. So both of those would be out. I'll probably just keep my Astra for another year. It does 120, that's more than enough really. If I bought something quicker I'd probably die or something.Grim... wrote:For real insane speed for little cash, you either want a TVR Griffith 500, or an Arial Atom.

No-body mentioned practical (although, in fairness 'windscreen' is often on my list of priorities)onion2k wrote:TVRs are horrible, and an Atom is even less practical than a Boxster.Grim... wrote:For real insane speed for little cash, you either want a TVR Griffith 500, or an Arial Atom.
And the Griffith is a lovely (500BHP) car which you can pick up for around £10k at the moment.
