No, this is not a world of warcraft thread so sorry if I got you excited.
What I meant to say was
WOW!
go to this site:
http://www.refunk.com/blog/
Now disable css - WOW!
Now enable css and disable javascript HOLY WOW!
I'm really really impressed.

That is pretty cool. In fact, that is what accessibility should be like.

Don't see much of a wow factor. The site is pretty mundane in how it has been coded. Though the use of the flash was definately different.

Have you ever built a website which rendered entirely in flash (and well) when javascript/flash was enabled, but degraded (to an even better design IMO) well when javascript/flash was disabled? If so, then I guess it really shouldn't wow you too much.
EDIT: I just noticed another thing - resize the page... pretty cool how the leaves and gate (or whatever) moves over the content (or off of it).

I wonder if someone can call that page from a phone or Blackberry and see what it looks like.

It's a 'meh' design. Personally I find it almost artistic in creativity, as opposed to functional creativity.
I much prefer that corporate look.

The design really has nothing to do with why it's so impressive.

That's how it should be done. Unfortunately most clients don't want to pay for an HTML site and a Flash site so it's rarely done properly.

+1. Accessibility. It could have been ugly and still got my vote for impressiveness based on usability.

What exactly is a "'meh' design"?
