Anyone been to Oz who can put some dots on my itinerary?

The google maps link is way to long to post so this page will redirect you to my itinerary thus far:

http://w3style.co.uk/~d11wtq/itinerary.php

(WARNING - It takes a good 30 seconds or so to load on my Intel Core 2 Duo with all the JS stuff Google Maps has to do to display the link!)

I have 3 huge gaps I need some help filling in the blanks on because my travel guides don't seem to offer much in the way of information on what's in these regions.

I know this is a PHP forum, and I have posted on Thorn Tree too, but if there any Aussies here, or anyone who's done a similar route before, could someone suggest reasonable stopping points for these links? :)

1. The gap between Cairns and Katherine
2. The gap between Darwin and Alice Springs
3. The gap between Yulara and Adelaide

I'm completely in the dark!

Cheers,

Chris

Walking, Lazing, Sightseeing, Drinking, "Socialising", Diving, Sailing, Photography, Blogging. A trip like this is one of the bigger trips you can take but Greyhound do offer routes up to 20,000Km which basically takes you to the western coast too. I can't do all that before xmas though :) I thought it would be really cool to buy a camper van and get a group of people to come along, all chipping in for petrol but it's unlikely I'd find anyone in agreement with said route :P You can save a fortune by buying a vehicle then selling it once you're done though.
