My summer and autumn plans:

June: Finish exams. Stag night.
July: 2 weddings. My 19th birthday.
August: Leeds Festival. Spain.

Quite funny that all that stuff won't collectively take more than 2 weeks, so for the rest of the time I'll just be bumming around :)

07.07.07? Reminds me of one of my exes birthdays.

06.06.06. I dumped her that day. Devilish.

sounds like an awesome vacation. the only thing i never understood is how people get the money to travel so much. I work hard and make good money (for the country I live in) but I never seam to have the money to go on a nice trip.

If I've ever been more in agreement with someone, I can't remember the time.

It has a lot to do with two attributes: location & national economy.

In Europe/Asia travelling internationally is quite a bit less expensive than it is in North America since everything is far closer. Visiting one sister in Canada takes me 24 hrs by car (no stops), the other would be closer to 50hrs if I ever did it. It's just freaky how unbelievably HUGE this country is sometimes, especially since we have half the population of the UK.

The other factor (national economy) plays a huge role in your expenses abroad. In countries with a strong currency you can afford to live abroad much longer in countries with weaker currencies. I was surprised how expensive GB was when I visited a few years back, and conversely how inexpensive Taiwan was a year ago. I stayed, traveled and ate (very well) in Taiwan for 2 weeks on what it would cost staying put for 2 days in London, UK.

Of course there are other factors, like income, accommodations, etc.. but these two seem to make a BIG difference.

I used to spend all mine on alcohol and parties. As soon as I eased off that my saving slowly began to grow. Slowly being the operative word. I'm still having to try really hard to save for my travels. I'm very greatful toward the people who've been helping me out through swift/donations :)
