I have a sony viao laptop that will either stop booting right after the post operation or during the post operation. It will not boot from a floppy either even though I set the bios to check it first. The ram is fine, I am assuming the cpu is fine because I can access the bios, the hardrive is fine. This laptop has had a history of locking up and is running Windows Me. Does anyone have any clue what might be causing the boot failure, and how to fix it? This thing is a beast to take apart as well...
Ok, after a TON of experimenting, (and the fact that I took the entire thing apart and there was nothign wrong with it) I discovered that it will boot if you press F1. Anyone know why it would do that? I think it's a flaw in the boot loader code, or bios, or something.
