Unless they've pushed it back, it launches this month.

I've already seen at least one commercial for it last month.

I doubt we'll get it until late this or early next year... we're always a few months behind all the new crap :(

Apparently Rogers is getting it within the next few months - I wonder what their data plan will change to...

When it was announced, $499 for the 4GB, $599 for the 8GB models.

For users outside the US, apparently other regions will get it pretty quickly after we do. http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/07/05/29/1425227.shtml

At this time, I'm planning on waiting until the end of the year to get one. Partly so that I will have tossed all my Windows machines by then. :)

8O

I'll definitely have to look deeper into it's features to decide if it's worth it.

Anyone remember this?
Conan O'Brien iPhone commercial
 (I'm on 56k, so I'm not even sure if that's the right video. Google says it is though. :-p)

Apple's multitouch system and MSFT Surface use very different technologies. Apple's is a traditional touchscreen system. MSFT's uses near infrared cameras under a rear projection monitor.

Apple's has the advantage that it's dinky enough to fit in a phone.

MSFT's can track up to 52 different inputs of any size and shape and material.

It's not quite traditional that I remember. My memory tells me Apple's uses light to detect the points instead of electrical/capacitance disruption.
