Dreamweaver won't open

Post by Luke »

For some reason Dreamweaver won't open. It worked fine the other day. Now when I try to open it, it shows the splash screen, then quickly goes away. That's all it will do. If I switch to another user, it works fine so it seems like it must be some sort of configuration problem. I'm on Windows XP and it's Dreamweaver 8. Anybody have any idea how I could reset the configuration completely? I hate computers. :(

I try to stay away from DW as often as possible, so I am not that much help in this area other than to ask if it uses a config file or the registry as its config?

/<root>/Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/Configuration is the path where all the configuration stuff is. I don't know any further.

... Repair/Reinstall? If it's a registry problem, that should do it.

It is so annoying. It just decides whether or not it wants to upload a file when I TELL it to upload it. It's like it thinks that the file hasn't changed so it doesn't need to upload it. I TOLD YOU TO UPLOAD IT SO DO IT!!

You'll be better after a beer. I know I would be. And besides, we can celebrate my 10,000th post!
