Keyboard recommendation for a n00b

I have for quite some time been interested in learning to play the keyboard and I have finally got enough money to consider buying one. The problem is that I honestly don't know the first thing about them. I know that I want weighted keys (because according to somebody else I spoke to, they are a must-have for anybody who is even semi-interested in playing well), but other than that I'm completely clueless. Are there any keyboard players here? What makes a good keyboard, and how much should I expect to pay for a pretty decent keyboard? I imagine I won't need the best, but then again I don't want a pile of crap either. Any recommendations or tips would be appreciated. :)

Don't bother splashing out on an expensive keyboard to learn on. Get one that will help you out. There's loads of Casio and Yamaha keyboards that light up which keys to play, and have loads of tutorial programs that can tell you what you're doing wrong. You shouldn't have to pay more than a couple of hundred bucks for something that will take you to an intermediate level ... then if you're enjoying it you can buy a much nicer Korg or something.

Hmm, that's not a bad idea. I'll consider that. I was looking at a Korg last night that was also a synthesizer / vocoder. It was like $400 and it looked like it was pretty nice. I think that I would have a LOT of fun playing with that.

I think I saw one at Costco once that has a lot of features for not a lot of price. It shows you your notes as play too, which is really cool.
