Is it illegal to use trademarked logos and or names on your website, for example purposes, without there consent? I'm not using the names or logos for profitable purposes, just mentioning them for illustrative purposes.

What's the legal stuff behind this? What are the laws for using trademarked logos and names on your web page(s)?

What are the policies for using a trademarked logo on your website?

They are the same as using them in print. If you need to know what that is, look it up.

So far, from google, trademarks can only be used with consent of the owner?

I've been researching this a little bit and it's starting to irk me... I want to advertise to my clients that i use certain companies (the ones with acronyms ;) lg, ati, amd, hp, apc) and they're making me jump through hoops in order to get "permission" to use their logo on my web site, or to stick a sticker up in my window so I am able to sell more of their products.

I understand needing to protect their marks but come on... I had to take a 30 minute training session before I would be able to use apc's logo...
