Wow. It does render better than IE. Hopefully, Apple can switch over Windows users just like Microsoft switched over Mac users.

Why's everyone getting problems?

I just tried to add a bookmark, and the little window came in like on a mac, and then kinda rolled out. My jaw dropped. Safari is sexy.

If only someone would build Firebug into it... :D

Dude, I am freaking thrilled. I love this browser.

If the FF tools were available for any other browser (except IE) I would totally use that browser (Opera springs to mind) but the tools for FF are just unbeatable. That is why I develop for Firefox and hack for others.

But Safari is kicking serious booty.

*cough* BETA *cough*

Don't be surprised if you get crashes... this is why they release beta versions of software :)

This is good news. Now I can leave my laptop at home more often. Especially good when I cycle to work, laptops are surprisingly heavy when cycling.
Now I wish they made a PC version of Adium it beats the crap out of Trillian.

I have to agree. ^_^

However, I'm so used to pressing F12 for Firebug, and then nothing happens!!
It's saddening.

I think i just pooped myself... I've been waiting for them to release safari for windows ever since... well ever since I started getting calls regarding layout/javascript problems in sites i've designed. Granted the problems are few and usually minor, but not having a mac to test on is rather annoying :)

/me gets on his knees and thanks the apple-gods

And as was already mentioned, is this one (very very very small) step towards opening of their os to other hardware vendors?? I keep telling people that 3-5 years after that happens, Windows will be out of the lead for desktop marketshare..

I want to switch to apple, but I don't got the money... :(

I was thinking of this crazy idea of making a donation web page for a Mac Pro.

Something like "help me get that leopard". I could still do that but I don't think anyone would want to acknowledge my pathetic self.

What makes safari so intuitive? Firefox has way more surfing capabilities. What doe Safari have that firefox doesn't?

Also I don't like the gray skin for safari, let it be light like the clouds(after all who does not like looking at the clouds?)!

Indeed, safari is very cool. At the moment I also use Camino, its little brother. Looks even better, very Zen like.

Only thing I like better in FF is the way it handles multiple tabs. In FF you can scroll left-right through the whole list. In safari you get this clumsy dropdown.

Even better if they incorporated cover-flow into the tabs.
