RAD tool

Post by alex.barylski »

Anyone use something like Dreamweaver for hammering out the basic ideas of a web app before development?

I've found many:

1st page, NVu and countless otherss free and not.

Does anyone know of one which excels just at RAD prototyping not web site development? I just want to make sure I have the right icons, navigation hammered down before I get into development. :)

Plus it's kinda nice to actually see something progress... :)

I can't stress enough how much I've come to hate Dreamweaver in the past weeks. It sucks majorly.

Notepad2, Programmers Notepad, Notepad++, Eclipse...

Oh wait, those are IDE's. Oh wait, I am rapid with an IDE.

Dreamweaver = Image

Edit | Actually, only Eclipse is an IDE. The others are mere editors. Which makes me faster. Image

I usually photoshop to hammer out the designs of each page and make sure I have my menus down right, but it's sloooow. I find it faster to hammer out the HTML into templates and just peice togather pages by hand, but for me, a powerful lightweight WYSIWYG tool would be awesome. Something that I could splice images with quickly create table layouts integrate with designs and then disgard when proceeding with actual development. Reusing what I could of course. :)

I have never used dreamweaver. :|
