Typing this makes me perspire
My thermostat downstairs reads 90F, and I'm upstairs with my monitors shining on me two heating elements. My face is a certain shade of red, and glistening as you would expect a grilled bratwurst. My A/C said, "aha, <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> you!" last week and my landlord roommate doesn't have the resources to fix it. Lucky for him, he doesn't work from home. Unlucky for me, the shelves in the refrigerator are far too small for me to squeeze into, and my tower wouldn't fit anyway. Only an iron would communicate to him what I'm feeling right now. And an iron it might be.
This experience has led me to draw a couple of conclusions: a) humans should not settle in places where natural bodies of water start steaming at high noon. b) direct skin contact with ice cubes doesn't feel good. c) "it's a dry heat" doesn't emphasize the "heat" part very well. d) global warming doesn't near explain what's happening right now.
So for those of you who live above the 45th parallel, count your lucky stars. I'm going to catch the next camel to walgreens and pick up some coppertone. Somebody send for help.

We're in a hot streak in the Bay Area (through the weekend, but mainly until tomorrow). Right now, where I work, it is 97 degrees. Yesterday was over 100. Tomorrow it is supposed to be a little cooler (low 90s).
Of course I am in my air conditioned office with my desk fan blowing on my face so I can't complain much

Last week we spent working with air conditioners turned off due to the constant power outages, man, that was awful to say the least. 37°С, high humidity, no coffee (bosses disallowed us to plug the water-cooker into the grid backed by the diesel generator)... I'm honestly glad I survived that nightmare.
