Does anybody have PhpEdit download file?

Post by Bill H »

I have been using PhpEdit (not PHP Coder which is more extensive) and like it a lot. But my hard disk crashed, and I discover that I don't have that install file. Their site (http://www.phpedit.com) is not responding.

Does anybody have that download? Or can anyone point me to a downlaod location?

Thanks, Volka, but...

Both of those links are giving me "the page is unavailable" messages.

The mirrors lead me to a never, never land of a whole BUNCH of files
that I have no clue what to do with.

I certainly hope this excellent utility hasn't become unavailable.

Well, the sites are not working for me, and I don't know what to do when I reach the "mirror" sites.
I went to download.com, but that download link failed as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am using Win 98se, IE 5.5sp2, and a cable connection (Cox).
Or am I stuck with Notepad?

that's ok - I'll take your reply as meaning you've downloaded it and remove the file from my server.

I installed using the file pootergeist so kindly provided and when I start the program it fails with the famous "illegal operation" message box. After that one closes another one says that the "specified file was not found" but does not say what file.

Since I cannot contact them for assistance... (Although it's puzzling why others can access that site and I cannot.)

I think I'm whipped on this issue. Anybody know another editor of similar nature that isn't terribly costly?

PHP Coder is way more of a "system" than I'm looking for. Just a nice editor with syntax coloring.

check the FAQ on the phpedit-website. There's a link to a download from Microsoft which sorts that problem out.

Can anyone access the phpedit website and provide me with the link to which patrikG refers?

I don't know why I can't access the site, but sadly, I cannot.

Hi Bill,

I've tried to find the FAQ-section on phpedit.net - I may have tomatos on my eyes, but they have apparently changed their site a bit. Even some external links to the phpEdit-FAQ don't work anymore.

However, I found this - which might help:

http://support.phpedit.net/support/200205/msg00439.php

I don't remember what I downloaded from Microsoft's website (I think it was an update to dcom-modules).

Sorry I can't be of more assistance...

Thanks, Patrik, but that link doesn't work for me either.

I give up. I'll go to Download.com and see what other editor I can find there.

I came across Crimson Editor at http://www.crimsoneditor.com/
I think I like it better, actually.
Syntax coloring can be edited, and the indenting is less buggy.
