Is there no forum like PHPDN?

PHPDN is slow on weekends, but on Sunday, I was home all day and didn't feel like programming anything. I got bored and decided to see what other PHP forums there were since I really don't know of any beyond this. None of them compare.
I went to TheScripts.com, Ozzu.com, and WeberForums.com, and none of them really seem to have the type of user base that DevNetwork has. Beyond DevNet being the most active, we're pretty much the only forum with a feyd.
Also, the first one's layout is cluttered and hard to read, and the other two seem to only have a forum in order to place advertisements everywhere.
Are there some better PHP forums I'm missing or am I misjudging the others?

The only other one I've been to is sitepoint, and while they are thick with ads, they have a decent forum that is fairly active.
EDIT: But yea, basically, we're teh rock-sauce!

I frequent SitePoint too. They have a standard PHP forum, then an advanced one as a sub-forum. I've gotten used to the community there although it took me a while because your observations are right... nothing compares to us
*cough* I love SitePoint really... I got offered a job with them on Thursday

Whoa... Maybe I should make some really useful open-source app too.
Edit: If these other forums need ads, how does DevNet stay alive? Is it sponsored?

I'm not sure that plays any direct part in it

They just knew I was looking for work in Australia. I don't start until October (when I land in Oz). Doing telephone interviews at 6am is always a delight too.

The Coding Forums are OK. phpfreaks and phpbuilder also have decent forums, but you will wait days for a response most the time. Sitepoint has a good community, but they are spread a little thin because they cover the multitude of languages.

I would use SitePoint more often, but their site always seems to load extremely slowly for me (even with all their ads blocked

)
I think DevNetwork has a ridiculously high percentage of people who help other people out (and we get new rising members frequently).

I used to hang out at PHPBuilder. They're a good bunch over there.

phpfreaks.com (I think I've seen Jenk there)
sitepoint.com
And a couple generic web developer forums which usually lack any interesting disscussion.
JavaScript errors, etc...

I never understood why sites add so much to the the site. phpbb is meant to load quickly, but they clutter it with useless stuff.

Continuity, income generation, because they can...
Those are just a few reasons that come to mind.

I've never used any other PHP forum, I'm glad this is the first one I came across.

Sitepoint makes me cringe more often than not when I attempt a foray onto their boards. I'm not quite sure what it is (beyond the ads and generally confusing layout..)

No, as far as I'm concerned, there isnt a good one like devnetwork forums, but sitepoints( articles wise its good) forums you dont get quick responses like that of devnetwork.

I use sitepoint due to the variety of services and articles they offer, and a pretty active forum. I like the place. I don't mind the ads.. I find myself actually clicking on useful ads some of the time.
It doesn't compare to phpdn though.. forums wise.
