Hi i am wondering if i can delete a post i posted few weeks ago.
the whole point of me posting a thread was to hide a link from google, but i had copy and pasted the link that i wanted to hide on the last post DevNetwork Forums to show as an example of what im trying to hide. now when i do a search on google, the hidden link comes up through DevNetwork Forums...
any chance of over coming this problem?
many thanx

Give me the line link the thread in question.
You can edit your own posts though

Once Google has indexed it, it's pretty much there for good. I think there's a way to request that it be removed, but you have to prove to Google that you own the indexed page.

I think they keep it there forever, but it's rumored that after 6 months, they get rid of it (if they can't find it again) and assume it's dead.

I always thought google's philosophy was that nothing should ever be deleted. I reckon they just don't show it in search results once the page looks to be dead.

Just goes to show you that if you don't want the world to find it on Google, don't post it anywhere. Ever.
