I've had two BSOD, both with different messages, both happening only once when it was very hot here so I figure the hardware was flipping out from the heat.

The rest of my company is running Vista on their work computers (I run Ubuntu) and they have a competition, who gets the most BSOD. So far one guy has 5 in 4 months.

But ya, always always back up your HD. You never know when you will have a random HD crash and lose everything.

This may or may not have anything to do with the bsod, but every so often, I turn on the computer and it comes up with a dialog saying the computer has recovered from a serious error. After about the fifth time it did that, I finally chose "send report" instead of "don't send" and it loaded firefox with a page from microsoft explaining why the error was caused. It claimed that I was missing a driver for "HP Memories disk creator" or something like that, but I don't any HP software or hardware at all. Also, it said I could get it from Microsoft Update, so I let it scan the system, blah, blah, blah... And it comes up with 14 or so useless important updates and a bunch of optionals, and not a single one of them has anything to do with HP.

Once again, I hate Microsoft.
