Even we geeks have real lives right?* :) I'm off out to a big clubbing event called "Tangled" in Manchester, UK. It's part of their 14th birthday party celebrations. Always a good night, always good music, always with a great crowd :)

What y'all doing?

(I seem to make this post every few months after I've had a few drinkies)

I'm programming all of today, then clubbing tonight, then programming more tomorrow, and either hitting up the mall or movies. Nothing exciting.

I'm young so I always gotta go to the younger clubs and have to sneak drinks. Almost there though. :-p

@oren: Hehe, I murder in pool! :twisted:

I find clubs and to a lesser degree pubs both less interesting that learning or trying something new. Today I bought some running shoes and I'm going to do some proper running for the first time in years and I'm trying to write Tetris in Ruby with OpenGL. Although I am a certified loner, 40% of all people bore me and the other 59% are intensely annoying. :D

I only have that problem with other developers. :) As long as conversation doesn't turn into programming I find most people interesting as everyone is unique. I find that diversity helps me innovate, having been struck with ideas at the weirdest moments. I've lost count of how many times I've scrambled for a pen and paper during a dinner or while having drinks at a lounge. Granted I solve problems much better when isolated in a room for a few days straight but I find it impossible to "think outside the box" on purpose. If that makes anysense. :)

@d11:

I think geeks have lives. Losers don't. :P

I work around the clock monday through friday and sometimes saturday, so yea, I unwind on the weekend for a couple hours. Local bar usually has my attention on Saturday nights and occasionally the strip clubs when I have the money. 8)

This city is pretty lively in the summer months as everyone is stuck indoors during the cold harsh winters (but beautiful sunny summers). We have a festival called Folklorama where every ethnic group in the city hosts pavilions where you can go and see the arts, culture and food of pretty much ever corner of the planet.

The Irish pavilion is awesome, the Ukrainian/Polish/Italian pavilions have wicked food and the Afro-Carribean pavilions are wicked entertainment. This year I plan on checking out the Mexican Pavilion. Maybe the Chinese one too, we'll see how time goes.

Good times. I'm quite proud of my little city. :)

You gave up your age when you suggested hitting up the mall. :lol:

Unless shopping...men (assuming your a dude) don't like going to the mall. All those people...ick. Drives me crazy. Slow old people. Crying babies and spoiled brats for kids. Mothers who breast feed in the food court. Teenagers freely making out on benches outside and the skate board punks who dent your car with their stupid boards. :P

I hate the malls...to many people and no booze in me makes for a grumpy Alex. :)
