I can see the pop-up helping if you get a Trojan back door on your computer and they try to click... well, ANYTHING. Then, it's a race to who clicks Allow or Cancel first.

My sister just got a laptop with Vista. The slowest thing I've seen the computer do is halfway fade out the screen, and then display a "Cancel-Allow" message box. Every time it happens, Vista slows down, and it seems to happen A LOT.

Ohh, the accomplishment one must feel to hit Cancel right before the hacker opens up AIM and makes them type a mean message to a friend.
