cheap 24" monitors

Post by s.dot »

I am looking to go big. I've searched everywhere, google, newegg, outlet stores, refurbishments, & more. I see really nice 22" montitors for around $250. But it seems, just to go up to a 24" monitor, the price jump is huge, as I've yet to see a 24"+ for under $700 (at the cheapest).

Why the sharp price increase for 2 inches? It's not like that when going from 17" to 19".

Do any of you know any deals on 24"-30" LCD monitors (i'm looking to go under $400)?

Scottayy!!

If only you were looking for a 22" :(
Westinghouse 22" WS Flat-Panel LCD Monitor $180, 19" WS Flat-Panel LCD Monitor $130, Movie DVD's $4
Found on: http://www.slickdeals.net/ [listed as the 5th item from top--currently].

As far as the price jump goes... don't know much about that. It is interesting to know, though, that it takes a dramatic jump as you mention.

Best,
-Matt

Thanks, that is a nice find on the 22" monitor.
I'll go with that if I can't find a 24"+ under $400.

I'm willing to bet it's the same economic forces which drive prices in every other market or industry...Supply and Demand :)

Honestly I would stay away from the low cost monitors. I've seen a cheap monitor compared to an expensive one side by side, and it's not pretty. The more it costs, the better quality and less eye strain your going to have, even with flat screens.

Agreed. If you use your computer to check your email 3 times per week, buy the cheapest you can find. However, if you're a pro, spending all day looking at a screen, buy a good one.

of course, but if you get it refurbished, used, from outlet stores, or bulk suppliers, the prices are generally a lot less.

OK, with that said. How do you guys feel about the $180 22" monitor posted above? There are loads of 22" monitors in my price range. Suggestions?
