I wanted to know if there was anyway to find out what the CMOS settings for a Hard drive are. I'm working on a friends computer that can't find the drive.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It might be in the bios. If there is important data on the drive I would just hook it up to a working box though.

Most modern BIOS have an auto-detect option, have you tried that?
Is the hard drive just not being recognized? In that case it's probably because you don't have the jumper pins properly configured.

If this is IDE (I'm dating my hardware knowledge, I know) "cable select" never worked right for me. Make sure the jumpers are set such that the HD on the end is master, and the one in the middle is slave, else it doesn't work. If it's a single drive, set it to master and put it on the end of the cable.
And if all that doesn't work, you can usually manually enter the sectors/etc/etc, but you'll have to find the specs for the drive online. if they're not printed on a sticker stuck to the drive. Of course, if the sticker is missing, I'm not sure how you'll reference those values...
