Tracking all network IP address's

Post by Trenchant »

I just finished wiring my entire house to cat6 and now have over 16 connections in various places. I'm wondering if there is some kind of tool I can use to track all these connections. I'm looking for some kind of logging tool where it will list off all the local IP address's being used and some identification(computer name, mac address).

Does anyone know of any software like this? I've got a home network server that's both behind the network router and another NIC in it is connected to the public internet(http server). I'm hoping to manage as much as I can from that machine.

i use:

just make sure you use it in your own network, a lot of system admins (like me) get <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> if you scan their networks and start blocking IP addresses :)
